On hiatus

For those of you who have been faithful readers of my reviews, whether it's been for a day, a week, a year or a decade, I want to thank you.  No, this message is NOT one to say goodbye as I will still be writing reviews.  But for right now, I am taking a break.  You'll notice that it's been two weeks since I last posted a review.  There are several things going on in both my professional and personal life that I just haven't dedicated the proper amount of time to properly read and review the books I have on my ever-growing TBR list.  I know those of you who are also avid readers know about this problem - a good one to have!

I'll also let all know that part of why I am taking a break from this is that I am venturing into writing a book myself on some of my spare time.  I'll give a hint - it's a fictional sports romance.  The male protagonist is a beer vendor for the fictional Chicago Rust (patterned after the White Sox) who makes a sale to a pretty college student - pre-med and a volleyball player.  This leads to them becoming a pair.  I'm not too far along yet, but I will say that the research I've done on volleyball to write realistic scenes has turned me into a fan of the sport.  Especially Nebraska - they are to women's college volleyball as what UConn is to women's college basketball.

So that's why I have not posted reviews lately.  I can't guarantee a return date, but rest assured, this site is not dead - just taking a break.

Sincerely,

Lance Smith
